This Makin’ Tracks adventure tour captures 3 of the most popular outback adventures in one tour.

The journey begins in Alice Springs where we head south to Chambers Pillar and Rainbow Valley where we then head to Dalhousie Springs, the starting point of our Simpson Desert Trek.

Our Simpson Desert crossing will take us to some of the most remote areas in Australia, where we will experience the challenge and solitude of this magnificent country. We trek across some 1100 sand dunes which run north-south across the track as we head east. We will stop at Poeppel corner, which is the junction of South Australia, Queensland and Northern Territory. We then travel east to Big Red, the highest dune on the track, near the township of Birdsville.

After a day at Birdsville exploring the town, race course and museum, we will head south along the Birdsville Track. We will cross the dog fence and arrive at Maree - famous for the Ghan railway. Here we rejoin the Oodnadatta track for our journey south to Leigh Creek and the Flinders Ranges.

The tour finishes in Adelaide.
